Emmarie deeply admires him whenever he begins to share God’s Word, teaching her with sincerity and conviction.
Whenever she feels tempted to act impulsively or drift away from God’s will, MJ gently brings her back through Bible verses and preaching videos—reminding her of what truly matters. Emmarie feels honored and blessed to have him as her future husband and the future father of her children.

The first time they became classmates—and eventually friends—was the quiet beginning of something neither of them expected. Emmarie had just transferred to MJ’s section, stepping into a world unfamiliar and new. At first, they didn’t see eye to eye; they hardly spoke, as if fate was still preparing the right moment for their paths to intertwine.
But as the days gently passed, destiny started to weave its subtle threads.
It happened during English class, where MJ and Emmarie were assigned as seatmates. From that moment, MJ saw his chance—a small opening to step into her world. He started conversations, asking little questions, offering small smiles, trying to understand the girl who seemed both quiet and captivating.
Emmarie, however, kept her distance. Her heart wasn’t ready for anything deeper than friendship, and MJ felt that unspoken wall between them. Yet he didn’t stop. He knew there was something special in her silence, something worth waiting for.
And then came the friend they both held close—someone who unknowingly became the bridge between two hearts still learning how to meet. With her help, MJ found ways to keep talking to Emmarie, to reach her gently, slowly, patiently.
Little by little, what began as simple conversations started to bloom into something more—something neither of them knew they needed until it began.
The Years That Shaped Us
Almost two years passed, and the quiet bond that once formed in a simple classroom finally blossomed into something deeper. During the summer break of their 4th year in high school, Emmarie and MJ chose to embrace the feelings they had been carrying for so long. They agreed—softly, shyly, but wholeheartedly—that their mutual understanding had grown into real love.
But like all young hearts finding their way, their journey was not without storms.
There were the small, childish arguments over time that never felt enough… the distance that stretched between them when they entered different universities… the financial struggles of being students trying to build their own futures… and the occasional jealousy and insecurity that showed just how much they mattered to one another.
A lot happened—misunderstandings, growing pains, silent nights, and tearful apologies. Yet through every achievement and every downfall, one thing stayed certain: they never stopped choosing each other.
They celebrated together.
They struggled together.
They grew together.
And through every step, they held on not just to each other, but to the guidance and grace of the Lord—who remained at the center of their story, strengthening the love they continued to build day by day.
When Faith Led Us to Forever
A decade passed— meaningful years of growing, learning, and choosing one another—before MJ finally asked the question his heart had carried for so long. It happened on January 23, 2024, Emmarie’s 25th birthday. But when he first hinted at proposing, Emmarie brushed it off, thinking it was nothing serious… just another joke, another playful moment between them.
So MJ planned something he knew would speak to her heart.
He invited her to climb Mt. Arayat, knowing how deeply she adored nature—the stillness of the trees, the whisper of the wind, the peace she always found in God’s creation.
They climbed together, step by step, just as they always had in life. And when they reached the top, beside the great cross standing tall against the sky, MJ gathered all his courage. With the vast mountain behind them and the heavens above, he shyly knelt down, looked up at her with, and asked Emmarie to be his wife.
And this time, Emmarie said yes—with a delightful heart.
Nearly two years of preparation followed—two years of molding themselves, sharpening each other, and honoring their love in every aspect of life.
Emotionally, they grew far from the young teenagers who once argued over time, distance, and insecurities. They became more patient, more understanding—matured by the years they held on to each other.
Financially, even as both carried the responsibility of providing for their families, they learned to plan, to save, and to build—side by side—for their most awaited day.
But most beautifully, spiritually, their hearts deepened. Emmarie watched with awe as MJ, once quiet and reserved, slowly but consistently studied the Word of God. He shared God’s love with her, prayed with her, guided their relationship, and became a man who knew that the greatest strength of their love comes from placing God at the very center.
This moment—this proposal, this preparation, this growth—marks the beginning of a new chapter.
A chapter where two hearts, refined by time and grace, are finally ready to build a family anchored in faith, strengthened by love, and devoted to honoring God’s amazing grace.
